Tea tree oil has been used for thousand of years in Australia for its antiseptic properties to treat burns, wounds and infections. In fact, Australian soldiers carried tea tree oil in their first aid supplies during WWII. However, with the rise in the use of antibiotics after WWII, tea tree oil fell out of favor. Luckily for us, interest in it has revived, with more than 700 tons produced annually. Its antiseptic properties make it ideal for the treatment and prevention of blemishes.
